The Assignment List functionality can show the Estimated Date of Completion (EDC) as input into timesheets or tasks.  A best practice to easily see if tasks will not be completed on time or has the potential of being tardy is to request that either the End User or Project Manager/Project Lead input an Estimated Date of Completion (EDC) for each task. The EDC is the date that the user estimates the particular task will actually be completed and may be entered in the eyeglasses section of the timesheet. If the EDC is later than the end task date for the resource for the task, the People Assignment list will reveal the tardy EDC in red for the particular resource. Since the end user can provide the intellectual knowledge of that particular task and an estimate of when the work activity, this is a useful metric for Project Managers to view in real-time.
